High performance liposuction: Deep lipo with natural abdominal definition
Abstract
Background: Nowadays, high-definition liposuction, according to some authors, appears as an evolution of traditional liposuction. This study aims to demonstrate whether complete liposuction of the deep (lamellar) layer of subcutaneous fat and preservation of the superficial (areolar) layer results in a naturally defined abdomen. Without the need to create depressions in the so-called "negative" areas to artificially resemble the abdominal wall musculature. Manipulation of the superficial layer with the tip of the cannula and the consequent injury to the vessels of the plexus-subdermal can cause epidermolysis/necrosis of the skin, hyperchromic spots and leave an irregular appearance on the skin like parchment paper. The surgical markings are based on a line defined by the author as Superior Gluteal Sulcus (SGS), which clearly separates the back from the buttocks. An important line that guides all other markings on the trunk. This article shows the tactics to obtain a liposuction with true and natural abdomen definitions with lower rates of early and late complications when compared to high-definition liposuction (HD Lipo).
Conclusion: The described technique shows a possibility to obtain an abdomen with definition but naturally created one more way to acquire a good and true results in the liposculpture. Each detail was very important to the outcome. The SGS defines exactly the gluteal from the dorsal region. This definition, associated with almost complete deep (Lamellar) liposuction (or areolar flap concept) and using thick cannula with blunt tip, besides the careful post-operative care are the key points of this job, to obtain a natural and transformed results without unwanted irregularities. This work is reproducible and permits us to improve and predict our results and is one more option to existing techniques.
