Presentation Title:

Coronal repositioning flap as a root coverage treatment modality to cover the multiple gingival recession

Abstract

One of the important features of Periodontitis is the clinical attachment loss which is much greater in case of gingival recession. Gingival recession refers to the apical shifting in the position of gingiva which results in the exposure of roots and sometimes decrease in the width of the attached gingiva. This exposure of the roots leads to the esthetic concern and hypersensitivity which if not treated can further leads to root caries. So, such cases call for the mucogingival surgery as an important surgical intervention in which root coverage procedure can be done to overcome all those problems that occurs with the exposed roots. One of the such root coverage mucogingival procedure is coronal repositioning of the gingiva which is highly useful in covering the exposed roots of the large number of tooth and has a highly reliable rate in covering the maximum number of the exposed roots of the tooth, so that the problems of esthetic and clinical concern can be overcome.
